In its outspoken nakedness and visually minimal style, Electroma, the third longplayer feature by one of the most prolific electronic bands of this era, is strange yet very intriguing.
Daft Punk's Electroma tells a small, yet spun-out story that is set in an American desert-like highway landscape where two robots are in search of human existence. Which unfolds in a drama in the desert landscape. The film has already been compared to Gus Van Sant's Gerry and pays hommage to films such as George Lucas' THX 1138 and Tobe Hooper's Poltergeist. Just try and depict those particular scenes...
No music by the duo Bangalter/De Hornem-Christo this time but featured artists such as Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Curtis Mayfield, Sebastien Tellier & Linda Perhacs.
